My name is Dorothy and I am currently in my third year at Adler University in the dual degree Master of Science in Sport & Human Performance and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs. I have been a Mental Skills Coach at Chicago City over the past year. My sport experience includes 11 years of competitive gymnastics with three years at level 10 and 3 years of competitive rowing at a high school level. I am also originally from Washington State and am an avid hiker and outdoor adventure seeker. My experiences in sport are what inspired me to pursue a degree in which I can help athletes achieve their best athletic self. I believe in mind and body connection and that is why I use a holistic approach to my mental skill consulting. Skills that can be worked on include self-confidence, self-regulation, attentional focus, team cohesion, and many more. As a former athlete I have benefited from the use of mental skills and continue to use these concepts throughout school and other daily activities. I look forward to continuing to provide mental skills session to the athletes at Chicago City. Please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or any of the Adler Mental Skills Coaches with any questions or if you are interested in pursuing individual consulting sessions (they are free!). See you on the field!
